1949
  • A new Moshav is established in Israel: Mishmar Hashiva. Among its founders are the members of the Milatin family.
1960
  • 1966
  • Beit Erez
    Out of their great love for dogs, the Milatin family sets up Beit Erez - a breeding facility, kennel and training facility for dogs at Mishmar HaShiva.
  • Dog kennels
    To accomplish the ambitious vision, the Milatins' old chicken farm is converted into kennels.
  • Kennels Construction
    Construction of the first kennels is completed and the Company business officially gets underway.
  • Martha
    The Milatin Family brings Martha, our first Cocker Spaniel, to the breeding facility

    Our 3 first thoroughbred dogs:
    Collie (Isabella) - bought in Tel Aviv, Irish Setter (Lady), German Shepherd (Aliki)
  • 1973-1974
    Dry food specifically formulated
    In 1970s Israel, awareness of dry food specifically formulated for dogs is still very low. Most dog owners feed then chicken, turkey and other cuts of meat which have been ground and cooked. The Beit Erez Havat Milatin gets its first glimpse of dry food and is thrilled by the innovative product. This is the moment we all realize that specialized dog nutrition is going to be part of our future. Beit Erez Havat Milatin starts buying dog food and selling it to the kennel.

    Dolly the champion
    Meet Dolly, the first Israel Champion from the Beit Erez Havat Milatin breeding facility!
  • 1976
    Beit Erez Havat Milatin gains a reputation
    Beit Erez Havat Milatin gains a reputation in the dog-handling world in Israel and specializes in raising German Shepherds. The family members visit the world's leading expos and make connections in the professional dog-handling business.
  • 1977
  • Distribution line
    Beit Erez Havat Milatin opens an official distribution line to its retail customers, who at the time were mainly the users of its kennel services.
  • International Dog Exhibition
    Participation in the International Dog Exhibition in Ashkelon, starring dogs from the Beit Erez kennel.
1980
  • An Israeli commercial
    Dogs from the Beit Erez Havat Milatin breeding facility take part for the first time in an Israeli commercial for the Bonny dog food brand.
  • 1981
  • Ramat Chen store
    Beit Erez opens a small store in Ramat Chen, offering flowerpots, flowers, and dog food to its customers.
  • Collaboration with Oded Guzman
    Beit Erez Havat Milatin sells a dog to a businessman named Oded Guzman. He offers a business collaboration. The Milatin Family and Oded Guzman set up a joint company named G.M. Royal Marketing Ltd. and for the first time import the Royal Canin brand to Israel. A year later the partnership is dissolved and Beit Erez Havat Milatin resumes its independent business.

  • Going to Hollywood:
    Dogs from the breeding facility make their cinema debut in the famous movie Nice Haircut! of the Eskimo Lemon series.
  • Meet Largo
    Beit Erez’s most famous German Shepherd, National Champion that sired a dynasty of splendid German Shepherds.
  • A first: A Corgi arrives at the kennels.
  • 1984
    The real thing
    Dick and Largo, Israel's most famous German Shepherds, are invited to take part in shooting the Delta Force movie, starring Chuck Norris. The shooting took place at the Tel Aviv Airport next to the old control tower.
  • 1986
  • Change in our business direction:
    The Beit Erez Havat Milatin representatives make contact with John Mol, Chief Chemist at Dutch dog food brand DenkaVit. The two companies sign an agreement and Beit Erez becomes DenkaVit's official importer. DenkaDog and DenkiCat, dog and cat food, are the first products directly imported by Beit Erez, becoming the Company's flagship product. Beit Erez begins selling pet products to business customers: stores, breeding facilities, kennels, etc.

  • 1987
    Rambo 3
    Rambo 3 is shot in Israel at Maale Yair. Special extras in the movie - needless to say - are our German Shepherds!
1990
  • First import of Canadian dog and cat food - Shur Gain
  • 1993
    Monge
    Begin importing the range of foods from Italian pet food manufacturer Monge: the company's flagship products at the time are the Simba brand for dogs and LeChat for cats.
  • 1995
    Josera
    The much-loved brand Josera for cats and dogs, which would go on to become one of our brightest shining stars, also begins being imported exclusively by Beit Erez. Canadian brand Elmira also joins the offering.
  • 1999
    Royal Canin
    Beit Erez Havat Milatin Company becomes the official importer of Royal Canin in Israel.
2000
  • 2003
    Medicines and pharmaceuticals
    Our first foray into the world of medicines and pharmaceuticals, when we begin importing the Merial Company's product line. Mariel eventually got sold to Boehringer, the company we know today.
  • 2004
    Beit Erez Havat Milatin inaugurates
    38 years after the first kennels were built, Beit Erez Havat Milatin inaugurates: the Ben Zion Milatin Kennels, named after the founding father that set up the first kennels together with his family.
  • 2005-2013
    Development and growth years
    The Company's most intensive development and growth years, where the main goal is to increase business and market share in the pet food sector in Israel, in order to be able to deliver the broadest range of pet products possible to every business in the country. These are the years the Company emerged as one of the leading businesses in the sector.
2010
  • 2013-2014
    Acquisition of the M.V. Marine Factories Company
    Acquisition of the M.V. Marine Factories Company, importer of aquatics products, reptiles, rodents and other pets. A year later, The M.V. Marine Factories subsidiary begins importing the Beaphar range of products.
  • 2016
    New facility
    Beit Erez Havat Milatin relocates all its business to a new, bespoke facility at the Kanot Industrial Park. The facility includes offices and a logistics center for storage and distribution of the Company products.
  • 2017
    Fish and Pets
    Beit Erez acquires the business from Fish and Pets and decides to merge M.V. Marine Factories with Fish and Pets. The Company continues to operate as a new merged company named Fish and Pets Israel 1975.
  • 2019
    Acquisition of pharmaceutical company
    Acquisition of the Eliezer Linevitz pharmaceutical company (one of the oldest companies in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry). For the first time, the Milatin Group launches independent business in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals.
2020
  • 2020
    P.B. Shai Company
    Acquisition of the business of the P.B. Shai Company, whose business is merged into the Milatin Group business, as an independent department dealing in pet food and accessories (primarily cats and dogs)
  • 2021
    MIKAVET Company
    Acquisition of MIKAVET Company, whose business activities of JBL products was merged into the Milatin Group Company, within the aquatica department.
  • 2021
    55 years anniversary celebrations
    55 years anniversary celebrations at the Milatin Group! Hoping for many more long years of work and love of animals.
